Navajo Systems' revolutionary Virtual Private SaaS (VPS) for LotusLive completely eliminates the data regulation restrictions which may apply to corporate data stored in the cloud. VPS allows organizations to adopt LotusLive while ensuring that no regulated information or confidential customer data is stored outside the organization.
Sensitive Data Never Leaves the Enterprise
VPS for LotusLive allows the organization to take full advantage of all the benefits of LotusLive without regulatory concerns or data security risks. It does this by transparently encrypting sensitive information before it is delivered to IBM's servers for storage and processing. Since no emails, documents or other information are ever stored in plain text, no thefts or leaks of readable emails are possible: anyone accessing the company's LotusLive accounts from outside the enterprise LAN/WAN, including IBM's own employees, will see only encrypted data.
End users remain completely unaware of the background encryption/decryption processes, yet their data is completely unreadable (and therefore meaningless) when stored on the SaaS provider's server. Database theft and identity theft become harmless, and regulatory compliance is ensured, as all sensitive data remains undecipherable when transmitted and stored outside the enterprise firewall.
Encrypted Email Storage
VPS encrypts each email subject and message body before it is delivered to the LotusLive servers for delivery and storage. Likewise, inbound emails to the enterprise are intercepted and encrypted before storage by LotusLive. VPS works with LotusLive in conjunction with a mail transfer agent (MTA) to handle the realtime encryption-decryption operations related to outbound and inbound emails.
Full LotusLive Functionality is Retained
Complete LotusLive functionality is retained even while all the data is stored encrypted. So, for example, searching through emails or documents remains available despite the encrypted state of the information. This is accomplished without any modification to the LotusLive applications.
